I find this poster very annoying and patronizing. How do you find it? I never liked the Phua Chu Kang character or the show, but I think Gurmit Singh is probably a really nice guy in person because he seems really hardworking and everyone in the Singapore showbiz scene seems to like him.
It wouldn’t be patronizing if people would follow the suggestions given. When I was pregnant it was rare anyone gave up their seat to me. I constantly see old, feeble, cripple, parents with small children, STANDING while young able bodied people sit – staring those they should be giving their seat to. The characters on the poster are irrelevant – the Message is the point!
I’ve been fairly lucky on the MRT. I usually get offered a seat when I have E with me (although sometimes I stare the person into giving up their seat for me).
