Elanor’s 3rd Birthday Party

I realize I’ve been stealing all the headlines, but Ellie had her third birthday party this past weekend.  We intentionally scheduled it a month early because I was worried about going into labor if we had it around my due date (cue ironic music, all things considered).  Since I had nothing better to do, I made a video of the pictures and video while in the hospital.

We decided to host it at the Little Gym where Ellie takes her gymnastics classes, and Ellie loved it.  We had a total guest count of 6 or 7 kids plus parents/helpers/family and Little Gym teachers.  I have to say that the experience of an out of home party was fabulous.  The Little Gym made it so easy–they decorated (although we added some Ariel themed extras), led fun activities and let the kids run in about equal measure, and helped us clean up.  We only needed to bring the food (catered largely by McDonalds, although B made Chocolate Chip Cookies and I did the cakes and the banana bread), and ourselves.  They provided the invites and the gift bags, which we filled with ariel goodies, and gave Ellie the gift of a backpack, which she loves.

Happy Birthday in advance little Ellie 🙂 Looks like a real fun party and what a great job you did with the video.

Thanks…I like doing that sort of thing generally, but it was nice to put hospital time to productive use.

I’m kind of relieved that Ellie doesn’t know how to read a calendar this year. Depending on what happens with her sister, her birthday may not get as much attention on the actual day as I’d like. Luckily we can always make up for it (again, that whole not reading thing…super helpful this year).
