From the plane, as we went over the city on the way to the London City Airport.
I love that you can clearly see Buckingham Palace…I LOVED this descent into London.
Dinner at a restaurant called “Rumors”
To this day, I find “Blind Dates without the Psychos” (and a little bunny to reference “Fatal Attraction”) hilarious.
Picadilly Square
Statue of George Washington, Trafalgar Square in front of the National Gallery
The story behind this statue HAS to be told. They wanted to put up a statue of GW. He said there was no way that a statue of him would go up on British soil. So they imported soil from Virginia, spread that on the ground, and THEN built a statue of GW on top of the Virginia soil. So he’s on American soil, technically.
Tea at the Ritz Carlton
I am drooling over those sandwiches at the Ritz, and the Palace Grounds are huge! wow…..great shot.
Do they refill your tier at the high tea that you had? I would have asked for more sandwiches….I just love bread. The tarts look tempting too. The portion is so much more generous than in Singapore.
This is going to sound terrible, but what I most remember is not liking the sandwiches and dragging Ravi to McDonalds afterward. Classy, I know.
Looks like you had a wonderful time, nice to see a few pictures of ‘home’ – thanks!
London is one of my all time favorite cities in the world. It’s my dream posting, but unlikely to happen with R’s current company, sadly.
Well you never know, perhaps you’ll get the chance at some point 🙂
One can only hope!
