Irresistible

Longer term readers may remember this post from August, when I shared that I’d had my first short story accepted for publication.  Guess what’s coming out just in time for Valentine’s Day?

My short story “Renewal” is one of the stories featured in Irresistible: Erotic Romance for Couples, which technically comes out for publication on Valentines Day (although it seems Amazon is already shipping it).  I’m very proud to have my story featured in this anthology because I like Rachel’s anthologies.  She picks stories with plot, with character development, as well as with heat; the kind of stories I enjoy reading as well as writing.

Our editor, Rachel Kramer Bussel describes the stories thusly, in an excerpt from the introduction…

A lot of the erotica that comes across my desk focuses on the spark of attraction when strangers meet, the cataclysmic sensation of falling, hard, for someone new and exciting. That makes sense, because there’s built-in drama and erotic tension when two people discover there’s intense chemistry between them. With this anthology, though, I wanted to explore what happens after that, once those people have been together a while (even a short while). I wanted to see what sparks fictional couples could produce on the page, and the results are, well, scorching.

The couples in this book explore all sorts of exciting sexual possibilities, and one of the main reasons they’re able to open up in the ways they do is precisely because they have another person to rely on, coax them, challenge them, tease them and seduce them into traveling down a new sexual path. Whether that means outdoor sex, kink, a trip to a strip club or a very sensual massage, we get to see the ways the layers of trust that have been built up get used to stoke the fire that burns between them.

You can read excerpts from all the stories here.

In the US, you can buy Irresistible from Amazon here, and from Barnes and Noble here.  Barnes and Noble also usually carries the books Rachel edits, so it’s likely you’ll find it on the shelf after the official publication date.  I think it will also be available as an e-book after the official publication date.

In Singapore, I’m not sure if Kino will carry it, but you can pre-order it from Open Trolley here.

Live anywhere else in the world?  The Book Depository and their free worldwide shipping has you covered here.

I’m pretty sure the couples in this anthology tend to be m/f, but Rachel has edited many other awesome books featured LGBT couples if that’s your preference.

I’m sorry, but reading your excerpt, all I can think is, “Owwwww!” I guess I’ve been pregnant or breast feeding too long. :p

I sympathize as I’ve more recently breastfed 🙂 But there may be another story in there that better aligns with your desires.

…or even other parts of your story. I do intend to procure a copy of the book and read the whole thing (at least your story). 🙂

Thanks! Just remember…for all that certain aspects of the story are inspired by life (they’re expats, for example…I figured it was something that would make the story a little more unique) it is fiction 🙂

Of course, re-reading it now, part of me just wants to go back and edit it again!

One of the big goals in bringing in my support team (part time cleaner, mother’s helper, etc) is to have time to write and submit. Here’s hoping it works!
