I am receiving compensation for this post, and one that follows the Jazz Festival (which will also be marked as a sponsored post) from FIJI Water in exchange for two tickets to one evening of the festival.
This Friday night myself and another mom friend of mine will be ditching the kids and going to Marina Bay Sands. We’ll be dressed up and attending a concert that doesn’t involve “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” or people dressed as the Gruffalo. Singapore Jazz Festival, here we come!
This is the first of what will hopefully be an annual jazz festival. Headliners this year include India Arie, Natalie Cole, and The Earth Wind and Fire Experience. Jazz acts from Europe and those grown right at home in Asia and Singapore will also be featured.
I’m particularly excited to see Natalie Cole live.
Don’t worry if you can’t get tickets to the main shows–there are free stages throughout MBS where you can still catch some Jazz! Check out this map and this schedule to find those acts, which include local talent Rani Singam (who sang the Singaporean National Anthem at the National Day Parade 2013), Christy Smith (a jazz bassist from the US), and Zoey Jones (a UK jazz singer).
Whether you’re an existing fan, or are curious to discover Jazz for the first time, come down and check out some of the Jazz Festival events this weekends.
*While you’re at Jazz Fest, give some love to my sponsor–FIJI Water, the official artesian water of the Singapore Jazz Festival.
